Series 520-50 ASME III excess flow check
valves are engineered for liquid or gas applications in the Nuclear Power industry where
personnel safety is a prime consideration. They are designed to sense and shut off surging
fluid flow caused by a downstream line rupture. Position switches provide remote
indication when the valve has closed. An integral solenoid valve provides remote reset
capability after restoration of downstream system.
Absolute zero leakage to the local environment is provided by a completely welded construction throughout the pressure envelope. Extreme reliability is inherent due to rugged design, simplicity of operation and a minimum number of moving parts. Internal parts are contoured to retard buildup of contamination and sludge. Compact, light weight design provides excellent resistance to seismic vibration and shock. Series 520-50 check valves are qualified to IEEE 323 (1983), 344 (1975) and 382 (1980) and NUREG-0588. Valves are qualified for 40 years depending upon temperature and conditions. Seismic and stress reports are available when required. A completely enclosed and encapsulated coil insures continuous operation during a LOCA event. Features and Options:
